Long Sentence for Public Fraud Defendant  |  22-10-2011

In January 2007, I opened the doors of the Law Offices of James M. Jernigan, PLLC in Dearborn with the singular concept of providing great legal advice to my community.  Many involved in legal issues feel overwhelmed, and that's why it is important to Level the Playing Field - to get the best advice possible in a timely  manner so that you can be prepared for whatever legal issue comes your way.

Every client's issue is important, whether the issue is a divorce, splitting with a business partner, or collecting from a vendor who has failed to deliver service pursuant to an agreement; or, worse, if a client has gotten into criminal trouble of some kind, then the client needs someone who will be honest with him or her and fight for the client's rights.  Great legal advice is critical for every client, and being able to connect with an attorney who will provide straightforward and honest legal counsel is a client's greatest asset.

Education is a crucial component of providing competent advice. My diversified training allows me to follow trends in the law and provide excellent and up-to-date service to my clients. I have always been dedicated to continuing my legal education in diverse areas of practice in order to effectively serve my clients in areas such as family law, commercial litigation, general civil litigation, and criminal law, and I attend seminars in many different legal areas throughout the year.I started this firm literally in one tiny room in the back of a business on Garrison Street in Dearborn.  I had no employees and did everything myself.

Shortly thereafter, the firm expanded to employ three staff members, Renee (pronounced REE-knee), Melisa and Donna (who are also dedicated to providing clients with great customer service), and had grown into a fantastic rehabilitated brick building at the corner of Newman and Washington Streets in downtown West Dearborn, where I continued to expand my practice.

In December of 2018, my practice moved to 621 S. Main Street (just south of Wing Street), in beautiful downtown Plymouth, Michigan.  We are two blocks south of Kellog Park, where I look forward to continuing to serve my clients' needs.
